It is with sadness that we the family, announce the passing of Irma Hogan, 87, of Sydney on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at the Harbourstone Enhanced Care, Sydney.
Born in New Waterford, she was a daughter of the late Mike and Veglia (Degiobbi) Hogan.
Irma enjoyed bowling, making crafts, and loved her family, especially when her aunt Stella Sharpe and her cousin Sally Durano whom she was very close to would come and have visits with her also Irma enjoyed going to the circus.
Irma is survived by brothers, Richard (Dolly), Mario (Utah), Tommy, Peter (Debbie) all of New Waterford and James (Janet) Ontario; sister, Irene (Raymond) Delaney, Newfoundland and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents Irma was predeceased by brothers, Michael and Ralph.
The family at this time would like to thank all of the staff the former Cape Breton Hospital, Braemore Home and Harbourstone and the doctors and nurses who cared for Irma over the years.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 8, 2017 from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. , all in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford, with Fr. Ray Huntley officiating.Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy for Irma, donations in her memory may be made to support ' Nora's House ' or a charity of your choice.
