Myrna (McGillivray) Grout, age 76 passed away peacefully on December 24, 2016 at Peace Hospice in Bellingham, Washington State, USA with her brother, Basil Sr. and sister, Marilyn by her side.

Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Vincent James " V.J." and Margaret "Peggy" (Munro) McGillivray.

Myrna held various occupations throughout her life time. She was employed with CJCB Television in Sydney, she then moved to Halifax where she was employed with a law firm and finally she worked as a career agent in the administrative area of insurance marketing and was a member of the Windsor Life Underwriters Association, Ontario. Myrna was a very spiritual lady and was well loved by her many friends.

She is survived by her brother, Basil Sr. McGillivray (Lorraine), New Waterford, her sister, Marilyn, California, nieces, Marilyn (Dave), Glace Bay,Connie (Wayne), Debert, NS, 4 nephews, Kenny, Glace Bay, Hans (Erika), California, Basil Robert (Tracy), River Ryan, Vincent (Jannette), Hailfax, grand nephews, nieces and her sister in law, Sandra Jeanne (Vince -Deceased), Glace Bay.

Besides her parents, Myrna was predeceased by her husband Al Grout, three brothers, Vince, Kenny and James Duncan McGillivray.

Cremation has taken place. A funeral mass celebrated by Fr. Norman MacPhee will be held on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at 10 a.m. in St. Anne's Church, Glace Bay followed by a reception in the church foyer. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery.
