Obituary of Margaret Wolfe, New Victoria

Margaret Wolfe, 87, of New Victoria passed away peacefully on June 4, 2017, at Harbourstone Enhanced Care, Sydney.

Born in New Waterford, Margaret was the daughter of the late Archie and Mae (Leadbeater) Hutchinson.

In earlier years, Margaret worked in several jobs in New Waterford.  She volunteered with the United Church Women and was Past President of Scotchtown Pensioners’ Club. Margaret was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing darts, bingo and cards.

Margaret is survived by daughters, Cheryl (Brian) Smith, Bolton, Ont., Viola (Ted) MacKinnon, New Waterford, Leona (Malcolm) Hartling, New Victoria, Cecelia (Gerard) Doyle, with whom she resided, Willena (Bill) Shinde, Edna Patterson, both of Mississauga, Ont., Annie (Billy) Loveys, New Waterford, Denise (Greg) Fraser, New Victoria; one son, Shawn Wolfe, Tottenham, Ont. Margaret was also loved and missed by 18 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.

Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Shan Wolfe; son, Joseph Jessome; three sisters, Annie, Catherine, Sarah; four brothers, Archie, John, Freddy, and Tommy.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 8, from 5-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford. Funeral service will take place Friday, June 9 at 11 a.m. in Calvin United Church with Rev. Duncan Roach officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery, Scotchtown, with a luncheon to follow at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 15, New Waterford.
