Ronnie Morrison, age 63 of Glace Bay passed away suddenly on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at his residence.

Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Steve and Evelyn (Mauger) Morrison.

Ronnie worked at the Correctional Centre for over 25 years. He loved motorcycles and was a Chartered Member of the Red Knights Motorcycle Club, Chapter 2, Nova Scotia. On Thursday nights, Ronnie could usually be found at the Dominion Fire Hall playing a game of pool, on Fridays he loved playing cards with his buddies and on Sunday night it was tarabish at the Shamrock Club in Dominion. Ronnie truly enjoyed doing any type of volunteer work at the Dominion Fire Hall. He was an avid Leafs and Blue Jays fan and also had a great passion for reading. A good drink of Scotch was also greatly appreciated. But mostly, Ronnie will be remembered as a real gentleman, an excellent friend and a soft hearted, compassionate husband, father and grandfather.

Ronnie is survived by his wife, Cynthia (McDougall) Morrison, R.N., one daughter, Vanessa (Brad) Strong, three sons, Jason (Shalane), Stephen, Jerritt (Jessica), one sister, Marlene (John T. Turnbull-Deceased), four brothers, Johnnie (Karen), Danny (Elizabeth), Greg (Sue) and Ray.

Ronnie will be sadly missed by his six grandchildren whom he truly loved, Autumn, Grayson, Dylan, Kenzie, Ayden and Breah.

Besides his parents, Ronnie was predeceased by his brother, Stevie, grandchildren, Madison, Justin, brothers in law, Jerry and Syl McDougall and father and mother in law, Danny and Chickie (MacPherson) McDougall.

Public visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay.

A private family funeral service, officiated by Fr. Dan Boudreau will be held in the funeral home chapel. Cremation will follow.
