Obituary of M. Emmeline O'Neill, Glace Bay

Emmeline O'Neill, age 82 of Glace Bay passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.

Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Frances (Campbell) Reynolds.

Emmeline was a longtime resident of No. 2, Glace Bay before moving into My Cape Breton Home for Senior’s, Westmount; a place that she called her, “Second Home.” She loved her faith and was very active in St. Johns Church, Glace Bay. Emmeline was a very compassionate and social lady who always enjoyed talking to people as well as helping those in need. She also had a great sense of humor.

Emmeline is survived by her son, Fr. Patrick O’Neill, St. Joseph Church, North Sydney, two nephews, Bob and Mark Englemen, Braintree, Ma., USA.

Emmeline was predeceased by her husband, Joseph O’Neill in March of 2000, two sisters, Leone Reynolds, Glace Bay and Anne Englemen and her brother in law, Bob Englemen, Braintree, Ma.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 13 from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 2 p.m. in St. Anne’s Church followed by a reception in the church foyer then interment in St. Johns Cemetery. Emmeline’s son, Fr. Patrick O’Neill will officiate the mass.
