It is with deep sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Kenneth David Grant, 56, of Dominion on Tuesday, July 4th , 2017 at Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney , with family by his side.
Born in Glace Bay, he was a son of the late Alonzo 'Lonnie’ and Kathryn (Davidson) Grant.

Kenneth was a member of Newsom United Church. In his younger years he worked driving ambulance. He also worked for Air Consol Aviation Services at the Sydney airport, L.G. Services (his father's company), and as a school bus driver. Kenneth also worked for Horizon oil sands (ESS). He enjoyed playing darts, was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved working around his garage.
Surviving are his daughter, Kendra Marie (Mazzocca) Grant; ; stepmother, Jean Grant; sisters,  Diane Grant  Aucoin, Sydney, Grace (Louis) MacAuthur, Red Deer, Alberta; brother, Robert (Dawn), Glace Bay; stepbrothers, Scott Morrison, Greg Morrison, both of Glace Bay ; uncles, Kenny Grant, Ont., Westly ‘Duke’ (Laura) Davison, Dan Davison; aunt, Buryl Grant, Sydney.  Also surviving is his special friend, Arlene Detienne; Good friends, Greg Livingston, Donnie Tobin, Chris Masters, and Floyd Butts and his two dogs, Mya and Bridgette and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm in V. J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay. Cremation will then take  place following the visitation. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Carol Gillard, is Sunday at 3 p.m. in Newsom United Church followed by a reception in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Kenneth may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
