Obituary of Judith Anne Tighe New Victoria

On August 2nd, 2017 I lost the light of my life, Judy. She was born June 17th, 1964 to me, Polly (McMullin) and the late Tommy Tighe. Judy peacefully passed away at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital with her loving family by her side.

Judy loved to travel, do puzzles, listen to music, latch hooking, attend Saturday Mass, and hanging out with her cousin Joan.

She worked at Horizon Achievement Centre, participated in the Special Olympics, and all of life’s activities were a wonder and a joy for her.

She will be sadly missed by her loving mother, Polly; her favorite sisters Elaine (Peter), Audrey (Ron), Cheryl (Dana (Alan deceased)), Wendy (Brian), and Lorraine (Len); nieces Michelle, Sherri, Laura, Renee, and Gillian; nephews P.Jay, Carmen, Jason, and Andrew. She is also survived by her godparents Anita and Winston McKenzie, her favorite aunt Verna Petrie, and many other loving aunts, uncles, and cousins whom she adored.

Besides her father Tommy, Judith, was also predeceased by her brother Alan, Maternal Grandparents Midi and Allen McMullin, and Paternal Grandparents Jack and Lena Tighe.

Visitation will be held Sunday August 6th, 2017 from 6-9 pm at the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St. New Waterford. The Funeral Mass, officiated by Fr. Ray Huntley and concelebrated by Fr. Everett MacDow, will be Monday August 7th, 2017 at 2pm, at St. Leonard’s Church, Mount Carmel Ave. New Waterford.

Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, New Victoria. Following the interment all are invited to join the family for a celebration of Judy’s life at the Army Navy and Air Force, New Waterford.

Memorial donations in Judy’s memory may be made to Nora’s House or The Horizon Achievement Building fund.

At this time we wish to thank Dr. Ajuwon, Dr. Shamone, and Dr. McCarville; the staff of the New Waterford Hospital and the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, as well as a special thank you to Nurses Kate, Leah, and Cory.
