Obituary of Deborah Doyle

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our mother, Deborah Doyle on April 20, 2016 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by her loving family, after a long courageous battle with cancer. Debbie was born in New Waterford on March 6, 1957. She was the daughter of the late Mose and Mary (Almon) MacDougall. Debbie was a dedicated, caring nurse for over 39 years at the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital and touched many hearts during her career. Debbie often looked forward and enjoyed going for her weekly outings with the "quad squad", Marnie White, Debbie Daix, and Cathy MacPherson where she would become MIA for the day. She enjoyed camping out in Gabarus, trips around the Cabot Trail, and most importantly being surrounded by her family and friends. Debbie married the love of her life, soul mate and devoted husband, Johnnie Doyle, on February 27, 1988. They will be reunited together again in heaven. She leaves behind to mourn her pride and joy, children, Johnnie (Mary) and Caitlyn (Stefan); brothers and sisters, Alex, Joey, Gerard (Cathy), Brenda and Frances; and by a special aunt Donna (Mike) MacKinnon; "her babies" Stephanie and Daniel and niece Jessica; special cousin Darlene Aucoin, who was like a sister to Debbie. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband, John Doyle and brothers-in-law Cecil Wilson and Kevin Doyle. We would like to extend our deepest appreciation and gratitude to everyone who supported Debbie during this difficult journey. A special thank you to the nurses on the An Cala Palliative Care Unit and 4B at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for the wonderful care Debbie received over the last few months. Also, a special thank you to Debbie Hutchison for her kindness and generosity during this difficult time. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 25, 2016 from 5-9 p.m. in V.J. Ray Huntley, will be held on Tuesday, April 26 at 10 a.m. in the Parish Church of St. Leonard, Mount Carmel Avenue, followed by interment in St. Agnes Cemetery.
