Obituary of Mildred Lynk. Glace Bay
It is with broken hearts, that we announce the peaceful passing of our loving mother, sister and aunt. Mildred passed away September 4, 2017 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Glace Bay, July 8, 1937, she was the daughter of the late John Joseph and Mildred Esther (McGillivray) Jamieson and was a former member of Holy Family Church, Glace Bay.
Prior to her declining health, Mildred was active with the Coal Town Chorus the Ukulele Strummers and the Holy Cross Church Choir. She always enjoyed life and music with her husband Everett.
Mildred will be sadly missed by her loving son Darrell Wilson, New Waterford; step-daughters Michelle Lynk (Gary) and Georgina Lynk, both of Glace Bay; loving sisters Theresa Lecointe (Albert deceased), London,Ont., Mary Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Timmon-Smith, Mississauga, Ont, Alexandria ‘Sandra’ Chamberlain, Calgary, AB. She is also survived by step-grandchildren, step- great-grandchildren, nephews and their families.
Besides her parents and her loving husband Everett James Lynk, she was also predeceased by her first husband and their daughter Lloyd and Darlene Wilson and a brother Leo Jamieson.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 6, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm in the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay.
The funeral service officiated by Fr. Norman Mac Phee will be celebrated 2 pm Thursday September 7, 2017 in the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will follow in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Sydney.
Memorial donations in Mildred’s memory may be made to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation.
At this time we would like to sincerely thank the Doctors and Nurses of the “4B” Unit in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for their compassionate care given to Mildred in her final stage of life.
