Margaret Strang, New Waterford

Obituary of Margaret Strang, New Waterford

With profound sadness, we regret to announce the passing of Margaret Strang on April 6, 2021 at Maple Hill Manor. Mom was a beautiful and kind soul who dedicated her whole life to her family. We were so blessed to have had her love, guidance and support for 97 years. She continued to enjoy life well into her 90’s. She always looked forward to a night at the casino or a game of bingo with her good friend, Doreen MacDonald. Her six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren were her pride and joy; Jim (Tracy) MacInnis, Patrick (Jessica) MacKay, Jessica MacInnis, Chelsea (Mark) McQueen, Thomas MacKay, Carlee MacInnis, Ava McQueen and Paisley McQueen loved their Grandma Margie. Born in New Waterford, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Jessie (Colford) Campbell. She is survived by her sister, Evelyn Kelly and daughters, Marion MacKay and Maureen (Bradley) MacInnis and son-in-law, Hughie MacKay. Ma was predeceased by siblings, Gordon, Sr. Mary, Louis, Murdock, Anna and Joseph. It gives us great comfort to know that she will be reunited with our dad, her loving husband, Patrick Strang. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford on Friday April 9, 2021 from 7-9 p.m. Masks and social distancing are required. A private Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Parish Church of St. Leonard with Father Peter McLeod officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
