Marina Remo, Reserve Mines Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marina Remo, age 87 on Sunday, April 2nd, 2023 at Harbourstone Enhanced Care, Sydney.


Born in Glace Bay, she was a daughter of the late Ralph & Carmella (MacDonald) Roth. She resided in Reserve Mines for the majority of her life.


Marina was a stay-at-home mom and wife. She was member of Chalmers United Church and choir, Dominion. Marina volunteered at Glace Bay Hospital and St. Eugene’s Church. She truly enjoyed bowling and spending summers in Iona.


She is survived by her children, Albert (Deborah) and Alfred Remo, sisters, Priscilla MacDonald (Gerald), Carmella Hazel (Oren), grandchild, Justine Scott (David), great grandchildren, Hailey and Katherine Scott, nieces and nephews, Karen MacDonald (Turner), Wallace MacDonald and Charlene Neves.


Besides her parents, Marina was predeceased by her husband, Fred Remo, son Freddie Remo, and her niece, Vicki Levy.


Cremation has taken place under the direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, Glace Bay. A graveside service will be held at a later date in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Sydney.
