Obituary of Mark Waidson, Glace Bay
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Mark Waidson, age 63 of Glace Bay on Monday, January 27th, 2025 in the QE ll Infirmary Hospital, Halifax.
Born in Reserve Mines, he was the son of Noreen (Detienne) Waidson and the late Michael Aubrey “Babe” Waidson.
Mark is survived by his wife, Brenda (Milley) Waidson, his two daughters, Natasha (Pat) and Ashley, brothers, Roger (Lisa), Jim (Jess), sister, Janice (Brad), sisters- in- law, Carolyn, Debbie (Randy) and granddaughters, Jordyn, Parker and Taylor Ogley who were the centre of his universe.
Mark is also survived by his grand fur baby, Maze who will be absolutely lost without him.
Besides his father, Mark is predeceased by his mother-in-law, Joann Milley, sister- in- law, Elaine Milley and brother in law, Lance Oakley, who we know greeted him with open arms, his grand daughter, Rowan Ann Ogley who passed at birth and we know he will be excited to be reunited with.
Mark was a gem of a man, an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother in law and friend.
He will be greatly missed by all, especially his nieces and nephews, Hannah, Leah, Zac and Liam, Bryn and Eric, Jason, Matt (Holly), Brandon, Stacey, Victoria, Katelyn and his adopted grandkids Owen, Olivia and Oliver.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 5th, 2025 from 4-7 pm in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay followed by a celebration of life at 7:30 pm in Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 78, Neville Street, Dominion.
