Obituary of Karen Ann (Meyers) LeBlanc; Ontario, New Waterford
Karen passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on March 18, 2025, at 61 years of age after a brief illness.
Beloved wife of Simon “Joe” LeBlanc with whom she celebrated 46 years of love together, married for 36 years. Treasured mother of Suzanne Remigio (Jeff) (late Joshua-2018) and Simon LeBlanc (Natalie). Cherished grandmother “Karen” of Lexi and Mia VanBemmel. Daughter of Joan and the late Jack Meyers. Daughter-in-law of the late Henry and Bibbie LeBlanc. Dearest sister of David (Arti), Chris (Yolanda), and Peter (Danielle). Sister-in-law of Maureen Finlayson, late Yvonne McQueen, Ann Marie McDonald (late Earl), and Karen Clements (Tiny). Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Karen and Joe established a beautiful family home in Essex, Ontario in 1990. Karen worked at Ford Motor company for 30 years as an Engineering Team Manager. In 2000 she was the proud recipient of Canada’s Pollution Prevention Award, where she was showcased in Time Magazine. Karen led the decommissioning project for the Windsor Casting Plant and Windsor Engine Plant. She returned from retirement to lead a project at the Oakville Assembly Plant.
Karen was a dedicated and compassionate woman. Both Karen and Joe rebuilt his childhood home in New Waterford, Nova Scotia where she loved to spend time. She enjoyed gardening, baking and cooking for special occasions and loved all animals. Karen wasn’t just a mom to her two kids; she shared her love with everyone.
Karen is resting at the Kennedy Funeral Home Ltd. (519-776-7378) 128 Talbot St. North Essex on Friday, March 21, 2025 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Name of Jesus Parish in Essex on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 11 a.m. Visiting begins at the church at 10 a.m.

Visitation will also be held on Saturday, Mar. 29, 2025 from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. all in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford. Father Godwin Obike officiating. Reception will follow in the funeral home with burial in Mount Carmel Cemetery, New Waterford.
