It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of a wife, mother, sister and grandmother. Carol Elizabeth Wheeliker, 63 of Glace Bay, passed away surrounded by her family after a brief sickness on July 9th, 2025 in the CBRH, Sydney.

Born on December 18th, 1961, Carol was the daughter of the late Cecil and Frances Elizabeth “Lizzie” (Ferguson) Duder of Glace Bay.

Carol enjoyed fishing, dancing and cooking for her family. Carol loved the weather network, she always knew the weather. She adored her family, especially her grandchildren. Carol loved all animals, her scratch ticket as well as her Facebook games.

Carol is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Eric Wheeliker, her two sons Eric (Sara), Carl (Jo-Ann) Wheeliker. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren - Logan, John and Christina.

Carol leaves behind her loving sister Brenda (Eugene) Purcell Smith. As well as, grand nieces and nephews Bethany, Georgia, Penny, Kristen and Colin, nephews Cecil (Erin), Darrell (Courtney).

Carol was predeceased by her loving parents Cecil and Lizie Duder, her sister Mary and brother Angus in infancy.

Carol is now in the arms of Jesus, Amen.

Cremation has taken place. The funeral service officiated by Rev. Dana Feltmate is Monday, July 14th at 2 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay.
