It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Stephen Aucoin, 73 years of age on July 10, 2025 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.

Stephen is survived by his wife Leona, step-daughter Cathy (Gerard) MacDougall, step-granddaughter Jessica Bollom, niece Dawn (Russell) Reid and one sibling.

Born in New Waterford, Stephen was the youngest of six children. He loved playing and singing music. He volunteered at the Maple Hill Manor for 41 years entertaining the residents and staff. He played drums in many bands in his younger years. 

He was predeceased by his mother and father, Alice and John Aucoin, brother Johnny, sisters Paulette, Coleena and Elaine.

Cremation has taken place under the care of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St, New Waterford, where visitation will be held on Wednesday July 16, 2025 from 12 pm until service time at 1 pm with Reverend Dana Feltmate officiating. Burial to follow in All Saints Cemetery, New Waterford.
