Raymond "Tiny" Andrew Sullivan, Glace Bay Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Raymond “Tiny” Andrew Sullivan, who left us peacefully in the early evening of August 28, 2025, at the age of 83.

Born on August 19, 1942, in Glace Bay, Raymond was the beloved son of the late Robert and Lillian (Dawe) Sullivan.

Raymond shared 58 years with his wife, Elaine (White) Sullivan. He was the father of two daughters, April (Pete) Tomlik of Lower Sackville and Laurel (Garrett) Sullivan of Glace Bay, and also leaves behind his son, Andrew (Amanda) McKinnon of Cole Harbour. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Michael Forbes, Myles McKinnon, and Hayden McKinnon.

A proud Cape Bretoner, Raymond worked as a miner with Devco in Glace Bay. Known affectionately as “Tiny,” he was loved by all who knew him. He had a gift for storytelling and a quick wit, always ready with a joke. His fondness for bingo, sweets, and laughter was well known, and he will be remembered for his stubborn yet kind-hearted nature, as well as for being a loyal friend and neighbour.

Raymond will be missed by his siblings, Kay (Jerry- deceased) Smith of Ontario, Hazel (Robert) Hill and Pat (Art) Mullins of Glace Bay, as well as by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents; siblings Bobby, Francis “Wank,” Tom, Don, Sadie, Clifford, Clarence, Ossie, Mary, Robert, infant sister Lillian, infant brother; and his niece Kathy, whom he cherished as a sister.
