It is with profound sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Donald Forsyth of Forsyth Street, New Waterford, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.
Born in New Waterford, he was a son of the late Adam and Edith (McLean) Forsyth.
Dad started out working early in life in the coal mines. He left there to join the Canadian Military where he served overseas in Germany and Holland; travelling throughout the countryside. Donald attended UNB and St. FX to achieve courses to become a teacher and teach life skills in Saskatchewan and Dartmouth. He continued on at the trade school in Point Edward and the AVTC in Sydney, teaching mechanics.
Donald was a very smart, meticulous, strong and hard worker. He loved game shows, puzzles, fishing and hunting, Trivial Pursuit and the odd glass of wine. Donald also enjoyed playing guitar.
Surviving are his son, Darrel, BC; daughters, Wanetta (Lawrence), Ginny (Nathan) and Dawn - Lynn (Darren), all of Sussex, NB; grandchildren, Matthew, Justin and Stephanie; great-grandchildren, Ethan and Olivia; sister, Brenda (Gary), Alberta; sisters-in-law, Marie, Theresa, Marlene, Judi and Linda; brothers-in-law, Alton, Jackie (Heather), Richard, Lionel (Monica); several nieces and nephews.
