It is with heavy hearts that we, the family of Gerald (Honey) McKinnon, announce his sudden passing at home on September 27, 2025 at the age of 79.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Londa (nee O’Connell); sons, Jerry (Denise), William (Shauna) and Richard. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Jeremy, MacKenzie, Patrick and Reagan.

Born in New Waterford, Honey was the son of the late John Archie MacIsaac and Mary Catherine (Odo) McKinnon. He was predeceased by his sister, Christina and brothers, John (Butch), James (Dickie) and Bernie. 

Honey was employed as a sheet metal worker, local 56. He was a hard worker but loved to play just as hard. His younger years were spent playing baseball, floor hockey, hunting and fishing. He loved going to flea markets, playing tarabish and cherished his weekly card games with his close friends and family.

First and foremost, Honey was a family man. He would do anything for Londa and his children. When he became a grandfather, he was even more passionate. He was a devoted grandfather who supported everything his grandchildren did and bragged about their accomplishments every chance he had. His love and devotion will be missed by all his family members.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford on Thursday, Oct. 2 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Godwin Obike officiating. Burial will follow in St. Michaels Cemetery, River Ryan.
