It is with sadness we announce the passing of Albert James Kaloc, age 82, on Tuesday, Sept. 30 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in New Waterford, he was a son of the late Gerald Vincent and Bertha Marie (Newman) Kaloc.
Albert started his working days at Gaffin's Store and later, Hinchey's Supermarket, New Waterford. He then went on to become a Welder for Devco and was employed there for over 20 years. Albert thoroughly enjoyed working on his cars and was proud of his '56 Mercury, '57 Chev and '63 Chev Truck. He also loved chatting and hanging out with his brother, Michael.
Surviving are his daughter, Nicole (John Michael - who helped Albert in many ways and was very important to him); brother, Michael (Irene); sister, Sheila McMullin; nieces and nephews; fur baby, Daisy.
Besides his parents, Albert was predeceased by his wife, Violet Ellen; and sister, Jeanette.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2025 from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m. all in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford. Father Jim Oliver officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Lingan. Donations in his memory may be made to the Cape Breton SPCA.
