It is with sadness we announce the death of Evelyn Marie Chiasson on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2025 at New Waterford Hospital.

Born in Cheticamp May 22, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Catherine (Lapierre) Maillet.

Evelyn is survived by her son, John (Brenda); daughter, Diane (Jim) and daughter-in-law, Barbara; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her family.

Besides her parents, Evelyn was predeceased by her husband, Albert; son, Yvon; grandson, Gerry; and son-in-law, Mickey.

Cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 5 from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m. all in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford. Father Jim Oliver officiating. A reception will take place at the funeral home with burial to follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery, New Waterford.
