It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Francis DeGiobbi, age 76, on Sunday, October 26, 2025 at Maple Hill Manor, New Waterford.
Michael was born on June 13, 1949 in New Waterford; the son of the late Salvatore and Mary Catherine (Beaton) DeGiobbi. He was a devoted family man who cherished time spent with those he loved. He found great joy in social gatherings, whether enjoying a friendly game of cards, or engaging in lively conversation with friends and family.
Michael leaves behind his beloved wife of 44 years, Joan (Neville); son, John Michael (Karen); sister, Shirley and brothers, Anthony (Margie) and Brian. He was a cherished Poppy to Jacob and Kate and will be remembered by his many nieces and nephews. He was also blessed to have recently had the opportunity to connect with son, Marcel Lajeunesse (Alina) and his children, Zachary, Stéphane, Benjamin and Anna.
Besides his parents, Michael was predeceased by his brothers, Gregory, Raymond, Johnny and Tommy and sisters, Caroline and Rose.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford, where visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 30 from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Father Jim Oliver officiating. Reception will take place in the funeral home with burial to follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery, New Waterford.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff of Maple Hill Manor for their kindness and care over the last few years.
