It is with great sadness, that we the family of Sheila Diane MacDougall, age 71 of Glace Bay announce her passing on Tuesday, February 3rd, 2026 in Seaview Manor.

Born in Glace Bay, Diane was the daughter of the late George & Betty (Robinson) Fraser. She is survived and dearly missed by her loving husband, Blair, her son, Kirk, daughter-in-law, Angie (Sweeney) and granddaughter, Arya. Diane is also survived by several sisters, brothers and many nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to her sister-in-law, Sharon Currie who would be by her side each and every day.

Diane graduated from St. Michael’s High and started working at an early age at Jay’s restaurant and later at St. Joseph’s Hospital for Versa Foods. She retired as a supervisor in the kitchen at the Glace Bay General Hospital.

We the family are so very grateful to each and everyone at Seaview Manor for their care and compassion.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 9th from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m., all in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay. Fr. Norman MacPhee presiding. Interment will be held at a later date in St. Anne’s Cemetery.
