Steven Francis Watts, beloved son, brother, uncle, and great-uncle, passed away on February 17, 2026. His life was a gift beyond measure. Known for his bright spirit, boundless humor, and the joy he brought to every room, he was truly the highlight of the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Whether it was old classics or cherished favorites, music was one of his greatest pleasures.

He was predeceased by his parents, Shirley and Eldon Watts.

Following his diagnosis with cancer, he was lovingly cared for by his devoted sister, Theresa, whose compassion and unwavering dedication were a constant source of comfort. He was also deeply grateful for the support and care of his niece, Megan, whose kindness and presence meant so much during his illness.

He is survived by his siblings; Sharon (Ken) Parkin of Halifax, Ann Gill (Brent Landry) of Sydney, Carolyn Wareham of New Waterford, Theresa (Jerry) MacGibbon of New Waterford, Charlotte (Kirby) McAleer of Cornwall, PE, Arthur (Ana) Watts of North Bay, Ontario, and Melody Watts of New Waterford.

He is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews; Bradley, Michelle, Scott, Megan, Aaron, Crystal, and Courtney; his cherished grand-nieces and grand-nephews; and left to mourn his passing are his good friends, Lonnie and Eric, who held a special place in his life.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 from noon until the time of the service at 2 p.m. all in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford. Rev. Dana Feltmate officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice/Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton.
