It is with great sadness that the family of Gregory Ambrose Hinchey announce his peacefull passing on March 6, 2026 at the long-term care facility, Celtic Court, Sydney, Nova Scotia.

Born October 12, 1947, Gregory was the son of the late Mary Viola (MacDonald) and Patrick M. Hinchey, both of New Waterford, Nova Scotia. 

Gregory will be remembered for his kind nature, gentle heart, and quick wit that brought smiles to those around him.

Gregory was predeceased by his brother, Theodore Hinchey. He is lovingly remembered by his siblings, Rickey Hinchey, Helen Doreen (Hinchey) Belcher, Teresa Janet MacAulay and Clara Jean Hinchey; many nieces and nephews who cared deeply for him and supported him over the years.

Gregory's quiet kindness and warm spirit will be fondly remembered by his family and friends and all who knew him. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date with details to be announced. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, New Waterford.
