It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Joseph William Patrick “Joe” Roach, age 63 of Dominion on Monday, March 16th, 2026 at his residence.

Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Aloysius “Wishie” & Margaret “Garvie” (Higgins) Roach.

Joe was an electrician by trade as well as a carpenter and drywaller. He belonged to the carpenter’s union. He served five years with the Canadian Navy.

Joe was a happy go lucky guy who enjoyed going to the Sandbar and Hawks Club in Dominion with his buddies. He liked watching movies and following the Montreal Canadiens.

He is survived by his two sisters, Karen Roach, Michele (Craig), nephew, Christopher Dean (Kelly), great niece, Carlee, aunts, Marie Roach, Marion McInnis, uncles, William Higgins, Joe Higgins and his best friend, Dwayne Campbell.

Besides his parents, Joe was predeceased by his grandparents, William & Sarah Higgins and Joseph & Lucy Roach as well as his uncle, Jimmy Higgins.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, Glace Bay. A gathering will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Hawks Club in Dominion.
