Levina (Venie) Drover, 71 of New Victoria was called home to eternal peace, surrounded by love on May 20th 2026. She passed away at the C.B.R.H., Sydney.  Faith carried her through life and now will carry her home.

Venie was born on June 23rd 1954, in Halifax N.S.  She will live on by her loving husband Danny Ling, her daughters Tammy MacKinnon (Robert) and Lydia Sidra, her siblings Laura-Lee MacDonald and Ronnie Royal, her grandchildren Samantha MacKinnon, Jarrett Drover, Emmalee MacKinnon, Coady Drover, and Bobby MacKinnon, her great grandchildren Arabella and Easton along with many loving nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents Murray and Levina (Liv) (nee-Royal) Rich, her daughter Sherry and son Thomas, along with her sister Mary Catherine Wray.

Venie was a devoted catholic who was dedicated to her family.  She was home, comfort, warmth and love all wrapped in one beautiful soul.  She opened her heart up to so many, she loved without hesitation or conditions.  She gave her love so freely. 

She will be remembered by all those whose lives she touched.  From church to TOPS to bingo to darts or just living in New Waterford.  The love you gave will continue to live through every memory, every lesson, and every piece of comfort we carried from you. 

 Instead of flowers donations can be made to the IWK Hospital.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 25th, 2026 from 5-8 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford, N.S.

The funeral mass officiated by Fr. Jim Oliver will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 26 at 10 a.m. in the Parish Church of St. Leonard, Mt. Carmel Avenue, New Waterford. A reception will take place at the K.O.C. Plummer Avenue followed by interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, New Victoria.
