It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, husband, uncle and friend, Kenneth Myles McNeil, age 72 of Glace Bay. Kenny passed away on Saturday, July 11th, 2026 at the CBRH, Sydney with his family by his side after a short battle with cancer.

Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late John Angus & Caroline (MacAdam) McNeil.

Kenny was a jack of all trades, mechanics, carpentry, electrical and plumbing, he could do it all. He dearly loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He was well known for his ridiculous “Dad” jokes.

Kenny is survived by his partner of 18 years, Wanda Dawe originally from Newfoundland, daughters, Tanya McNeil (Ernie), Caroline McNeil (Mingy), sisters, Brenda (Sonny) Deveaux, Reserve Mines, Gail McNeil, New Waterford, brothers, Craig (Kay) McNeil, Reserve Mines, Shannon McNeil, Glace Bay, Billy McNeil, Glace Bay and Ricky McNeil (Tammy), Glace Bay.

Also surviving are grandchildren, Marcus, Gage, Brandon, Jayden, Brooklyn, Paige McNeil, his adopted granddaughter, Rachel, many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Kenny was predeceased by his wife, Cordella (Evely) McNeil in 2004, son, George Kenneth, grandson, Jonathan McNeil and brothers, Gary, Freddie, Alonzo and fur companions, Max and Simba.

Special thank you to Dr. Trevor Guy for all the years of care to our father as well as Dr. Neil MacVicar and the beautiful staff at CBRH for making his final days comfortable.
