It is with profound sadness that we, the family, regret to announce the loss of Mary Anna Bramwell (Ulrich) who peacefully passed at home on Sunday, July 12, 2026. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Born in Gardiner Mines, she was the daughter of the late Frank Ulrich and Rita O’Neill.

Anna studied as a CNA at the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital, earning her diploma in 1969. She began her nursing career at St. Joseph’s Community Hospital in Glace Bay.

Anna never missed a hockey game on TV, and was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan. She loved horses, western movies, and music - especially Neil Diamond. She loved cracking jokes and having a good laugh.

She is survived by a daughter, Dawn Grant; two granddaughters, Nikayla and Bailey; brothers, Kevin Ulrich (Alexis), London, ON, Paul Ulrich, Howie Center; sisters, Aileen Maloney (Brendan), Oshawa, ON, Millie Langer (Tom), Trenton, ON, Cecilia Cleary (Mike), Florida, Theresa Cox (George), Glace Bay, Donna Chamberlain (Jake), Dominion, Rita Ulrich (Larry), London, ON, Marlene Goshko (Don), Cold Lake, AB. Also left to mourn are many nieces, nephews and special friends; especially Judy MacInnis.

Anna was predeceased by a daughter, April; brothers, Frankie, Joey, Johnny, Gerald, and a sister, Claire, infancy. 

Donations may be made to MADD Cape Breton or a charity of one's choice.

Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. A Funeral Mass of celebration will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at 11 a.m. in St. Anne's Church, Main Street, Glace Bay with Father Macleen Anyanwu officiating.
