Sharon Larade passed away on August 30, 2026 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.

Born in New Waterford, she was the daughter of the late Phonie and Annie (Aucoin) MacDonald. 

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Clare Larade.

Sharon is survived by her sister, Colleen MacDonald, New Waterford and brother, Paul (D.P.) MacDonald, Ontario; two cats, Lily and Cassie; stepchildren, Cindy Polegato, Howard Larade, Carol Lee Larade and Darren Larade.

There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and guidance of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford. A Funeral Mass of celebration will be held Thursday, Sept. 3 at 10 a.m. in the Parish Church of St. Leonard, Mount Carmel Avenue, with Father Godwin Obike officiating. Burial will be in Mount Carmel cemetery with a reception to follow in the funeral home. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
