Debbie came down to visit me at X second year. I had met her first year on the train back to Sydney for winter break. She was a person larger than life; so much personality in that little frame of hers! We would often meet up when I was in Sydney on the weekends and have a night out on Charlotte Street.
Debbie was actually born on the same day as my dear cousin, Colleen Farrell, the sister I never had. In fact, Debbie's mother Vera and my aunt shared a room together at St. Rita's.

A few years back, I took my husband to Sydney to meet my family. We met Debbie at Wentworth Perk to catch up; although we had reconnected on Facebook several years back, we only met face to face for the first time in over 25 years in 2015. The afternoon coffee catch up went on well into the evening, where we ended up at the Triangle on Charlotte Street.
She will be terribly missed. I am so very sorry I was unable to come to any of the services; I am living in Boston.

Please accept my condolences for your loss. I was heart broken when I learned of Debbie Lees passing. She was a remarkable person. How she treated people with love and kindness was wonderful. She had her own look on life and she was happy in her adventure. I read the words that others have written and I see how many people she has touched. How she made each and every people feel special. I don't know anyone who has done this. I doubt that I will ever meet anyone like her again. She was truly a special, lovely person. I am sad and I will miss her.

I can't even imagine how Vera, Linda, and Nicole must be feeling given all the sudden tragic and severe losses they have faced one after the other.

To Debbie's family and friends...my sincere and heartfelt condolences. ...Debbie and I met when we were only 5...we played skip, elastics and hop scotch. We chased boys and fought and laughed for years at New Victoria school. Like so many more of us New Vic'ers we went on about our lives and the years went right along with us. We may have gone on separately but not one of us forget about life back then. I remember her as an elementary school classmate who greeted everyone...every single day with a smile.She was vibrant..she stood out...and she made me want to be a better person. After we connected so many years later...i found myself feeling the same way. I thought, she is still making an impact. She still stands out...and when you see her...she greets you with a smile. The NS Lighthouse Preservation Society would like to express sincere condolences to Debbie Lee's family at the untimely death of their daughter. Debbie Lee led the way in restoring the Low Point Lighthouse, but sadly didn't live to see the project finish this spring. We will certainly miss celebrating this with her, will always remember her effort, and Low Point will now shine a little brighter because of her.

I would like to offer my heartfelt condolences to Debbie's family . I went to school and graduated with Debbie. A vibrant, life loving young woman gone way too soon. She is a reminder of the quote " it's not the years in the life.....it's the life in the years". She packed a lot of life in her 48 years. The community has lost a vibrant piece of it's soul that can never be replaced. Rest in peace Debbie.

So sad to hear of Debbies passing, such a young joyful person. She joined our ship in January and I have gotten to know her for the short time we sailed together. She always had a smile every time you see her and she enjoyed her job very much. She was even talking about bringing her guitar this cycle and we were going to jam together. I was totally floored by the news and my thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends . RIP My friend
