Obituary of Diane Florence MacPherson Scotchtown

It is with deep sadness, that we announce the sudden passing of our loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. Diane passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at the Halifax Infirmary after a brief illness.

Born in New Waterford, she was the daughter of the late George and Theresa Pauline (Hurley) Gouthro and was raised by her grandparents Thomas and Angeline (Ranson) Hurley. She was a long-time member of the former Mt. Carmel Church and more recently the parish of St. Leonard, New Waterford.

Diane will mainly be remembered for her love of her family; she truly enjoyed spending time with her husband Neil, their sons, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed the times spent with her husband Neil making and painting wooden crafts, especially the Christmas decorations they made together for several years. She was a great homemaker, a job she truly enjoyed and in her spare time she enjoyed playing darts or a night out playing bingo.

She will be sadly missed by sons Neil (Tammy), and Kenny (Shelly), both of Scotchtown, her three loving sisters Pauline (Lawrence) Peckham), Ann (Jimmy) Ryan, both of New Waterford and “Niecie” (Steven) MacPherson, Scotchtown. She will also be sadly missed by her nine cherished grandchildren; Ashley, Kenneth, Jordon, Kendall, Trent, Nicholas, Mitchell, Kelly, Patrick; great-grandchildren Aliyah, Novah, Holly; brother in laws Kevin MacNeil, Russell (“Dot”) MacPherson, Frank V. MacPherson; Godchildren Amanda Marie MacPherson, Elizabeth Fortune and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
