Obituary of Rita Ann Higgins

Rita Ann (Wilson)Higgins Reserve Mines It is with sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Rita Ann (Wilson) Higgins, age 70, on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at home. Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Agnes (LeBlanc) Wilson. Rita was a secretary for Blue Water Home Improvement and Bob Wilson Sales. In her earlier years she worked for the Cape Breton Hospital cleaning staff. She loved animals, especially her little dog ‘Angel’. Surviving are her brother, Douglas ‘Dougie’ (Judy) Wilson; sister, Darlene (Wendell) Maskell, Middle Sackville. Rita was predeceased by her husband, Melvin Higgins in 1994. In honouring her wishes, cremation has taken place, there will be no visitation. A grave side service will be held on Monday, May 16, 2016 at 1.30 p.m., with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiating. Interment will take place in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangements are under the care direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay.
