Lynn, Joanne, and the Hopkins Family
We were saddened to hear about Cliff's passing, but also happy to know that he will now be reunited with your mom.They were a special couple.
The obituary certainly sums up what Cliff was to your family, to the fishing industry, and to the community.
As a young boy, growing up around the wharf, I always respected Cliff. He worked hard, always acknowledged people, even us saucy teenagers,and his word was his bond.
Later, while working at my father's store, and delivering orders to the Cook House, I learned just a little about how he helped to carry people through the winter, to get them through to another Lobster Season.
He was the same Cliff, whether up to his knees in codfish or lobster crates, as he was wheeling and dealing with the buyers from Boston and elsewhere.
He will truly be remembered.
