Obituary of Yvonne Doyle, Glace Bay

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Yvonne Doyle of Glace Bay, Nova Scotia announce her passing. Yvonne entered heaven on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at the age of 66.

Yvonne was predeceased by her parents Elsie (Durant) Bond and Robert Bond, her brother Patrick Doyle and her sister, Leona Morrison.

Yvonne will live on in the memories of her surviving family and friends including her daughters,Tammy (Mark) Ferguson and Paula (Adam) Mitchell; her cherished grandchildren, Kyle, Taegan, Ainsley and Gavin; her sisters, Theresa Roberts (Dartmouth), Doreen Woodland (Glace Bay), Donna MacLellan (Roy, Glace Bay); her brothers, Michael Doyle (Halifax) and Wayne Doyle (Haverill, MA); along with her former husband and forever friend, John Dorey. Yvonne will also be forever remembered by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Yvonne received the most joy from being a mother and grandmother. She was a caretaker at heart evidenced by her actions including the exceptional care she showed her own mother in the last years of her life.  Yvonne worked many jobs throughout her life, many of which involved the care of others including children and the elderly. Her most recent job was at McFadgen’s Bakery before she retired one year ago.

The family would like to thank all the angels disguised as doctors and nurses at the Cancer Unit and Palliative Care Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital in assisting Yvonne in her journey from earth to heaven.  

Cremation has taken place. Visitation is Friday evening, December 21st from 7-9 p.m. in  V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay.

To celebrate Yvonne’s life a funeral mass will be held at Holy Cross Church at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 22nd followed by a reception in the church hall. Fr. Norman MacPhee officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery.
