Obituary of Tena Shea
Christena Elizabeth "Tena" (Boutilier) Shea
65, Dominion
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Tena Shea, 65 on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at the Glace Bay Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Weldon and Milly (MacLean) Boutilier of Dominion.
For many years, Tena worked for the Cape Breton Development Corporation and most recently with Public Works, Canada. Tena’s passion in life was helping family, friends or strangers, no matter the task. She was a very private lady, whom people trusted whole heartedly. Tena took great pleasure in music, gardening and mall crawling with her family. She was a woman of great faith.
Tena is survived by her husband, Ambrose "Tom" Shea, stepchildren, Donna and Stephen Shea, four step grandchildren, Kristyna, Ryan, Matthew and Cameron, all of Toronto.
Also surviving are siblings, Polly and Bert Coffin, Gardiner Mines, Danny and Doris Boutilier, Dominion, Elaine Saccary, Saskatchewan, nieces and nephews, Camie, Dennette, Carey, Saundra, Francis, Bryan, Kitty, Sheri-Lynn and Lynette, whom she adored equally , as they did her.
Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 6-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay.
The funeral mass officiated by Fr. Dan Boudreau is Monday at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Bridgeport followed by interment in St. James Cemetery, Gardiner Mines. The reception will be held in the church hall.
