My Dear Michelle,
I want to express my sincere condolence. Uncle Don has always been a kind , gentle, gentleman. As we grew up, Uncle Don was one of those relatives who demonstrated all the fine qualities that guided and directed others to make the right choices. We were so fortunate to have a loving extended family during our formative years. I remember his lovely smile and impish light in his eyes. I am so glad that I had the opportunity to share our summer fun with him and your family. I will keep you in my prayers.

Michele, please accept my deepest condolences to you and your family on the passing of your Dad. Donnie was indeed a good man and I've always had the upmost respect for him . We were in opposite corners on many issues over the years but in true Donnie fashion he always handled himself with integertiy. I have many memories of Donnie standing up for a miner even when it wasn't popular with the Company . He will be missed . Love , Vic .

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I am sending this condolence to Michelle and family. Uncle Don will always be remembered for the kind, loving and intelligent man that he was. There was no better Uncle and my memories of him growing up in Cape Breton will always remain in my heart....from gatherings in Big Pond to parties on Murray Street, such great times. I felt honoured to have him as MC at our wedding. He and Daddy were best friends and I hope they have been reunited, talking and talking. Such a great man, RIP Uncle Don, I love you ❤️

So many fond memories of Uncle Don in No.2, his visits to Brody Avenue and of course the cabin in Big Pond. I recall being at Dada's and Nana's listening to Don and Dad and our grandfather talking about the Pit. Don would sit on the counter in the corner near the window. Some serious conversation but no swearing. Don would be at our place on Brody Avenue and he and Dad again talking PIT. You would not be told to go in another room but you sat there and listened to their experiences. Don and Dad were best buddies not just brothers. Don was so proud of his cabin in Big Pond and you were always invited in. Many a night I stayed in the cabin while the rest of my family were in a tent between Reggie and Don. When we moved up to Loch Lomond I still stayed with Don and Phyllis in Big Pond from time to time. Don gave me his car, a Mercury Caliente, one Saturday and I thought I was in Heaven. Everyone knows how much Don liked a nice car. We always enjoyed our visits on Murray Ave, Dad and I would visit on our trips from Loch Lomond to Glace Bay for groceries, both retired but still talking Pit. As we get older our memories fade but will be forever in our minds.
