Obituary of Clarence William Musgrave, New Waterford
It is with profound sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of a loving husband, father and grandfather, Clarence ‘Winky’ Musgrave on March 24 2019 at the An Cala Palliative Care Unit, Cape Breton Regional Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on June 14 1937 in Sydney, dad was the son of the late Clarence and Martha (Kehoe) Musgrave.
Dad married his soul mate and love of his life, Georgina, 46 years ago and made their home in New Waterford. For many years, Dad took great pleasure spending time at his bungalow in Loch Lomond where he loved to fish, hunt and spend quality time with his family and special friends, Matt and Deanie Hawley.
Dad was also a huge Boston Bruins and Boston Red Sox fan and could be found cheering on his favourite team with his boys on any given Saturday night. When not cheering on his favourite team, dad enjoyed playing bingo and loved visiting one of his favourite people, Tina , when picking up his Keno tickets. Dad also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren whom he cherished.
Before retiring, dad worked for CN Railway for 27 years. He was a devoted member of Branch 12 Legion and the New Waterford Pensioners Club. Dad was also a veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces.
Dad is survived by our mom, Georgina (MacDougall) Musgrave to whom he was married to for 46 wonderful years. Dad is also survived by sons, Clarence Jr. ‘Dink’ ,New Waterford, Mike (Ellen) ,New Waterford, Robert, Ontario, Derrick (Cherie), Gardiner Mines; daughters , Juanita (Jay), Westmount, Dawn (Derek) Bekkers, Antigonish; brother, Jackie Musgrave, Winnipeg; sisters, Anne Nicholson, Maple Hill Manor, Sandra (Bubby) Rutherford, Sydney; his cherished grandchildren, Amanda, Mitchell, Ryan, Emily, Abby, Matthew and Ally as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
