It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of our beautiful mother, Frances Gertrude Harte (McIntyre) surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, March 31, 2019 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Glace Bay on October 7th ,1935, Frances was the daughter of the late Adelaide (O’Handley) and Douglas McIntyre.
Mom loved nothing more than spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She cherished being able to share conversation and memories with those she held dear. She always looked forward to her Sunday drives with our dad and later her children and grandchildren .Frances also loved watching Coronation Street. She was an avid reader and enjoyed listening to music.
Frances is survived by her daughter, Frances; sons, Sonny (Judy), Aubrey (Wendy); grandchildren, Tyler, Derrick, Crystal and Jason; two great grandchildren, Angelina and Damon, her sisters, Bobbie, Sissie, Laurie, Marilyn; brothers, Butchie, Wayne, and Sonny.
Besides her parents, Frances was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Aubrey “Bobbie” in 2003; grandson, John Jr. in infancy; brother, Allie and sister, Elaine in infancy.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at 1 pm on Thursday, April 4th, with a reception to follow, all in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, Chapel and Reception Centre, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay. Fr. Norman MacPhee presiding. Interment will take place at a later date.
The family would like to thank the staff of I.C.U and E.R of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for their amazing care and compassion during our mom’s final days. Also we would like to thank Dr. Paul Murphy and the staff of my Cape Breton Home for seniors, North Sydney where mom resided the last two years.
