It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Margaret MacDonald, age 75 on Monday, April 8th, 2019 at the V.G. Hospital, Halifax.

Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late John and Juanita (Clarke) MacDonald.

Mary worked for McFadgen’s Bakery in her earlier years. She was an avid dancer and loved socializing.

She is survived by her loving partner, Bernie Burt, four sisters, Josephine Gilmet, Lila Dawe, Esther (Robert) MacNeil, Juanita MacKenzie, one brother, Rickey( Mary Clair) MacDonald, nieces, nephews and her partner Bernie’s children, Karen Burt (Allen), Susan O’Connell (Brent), Shawn Burt (Arlene) and his grandchildren, Kenza and Grady.

Mary was predeceased by her loving daughter, Annette, sisters, Edith Slade, Deborah MacDonald, brothers, John Joe, Stevie and Eddie MacDonald as well as her sisters in law, Edith MacDonald and Irene MacDonald

Cremation has taken place under the direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, Chapel and Reception Centre, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay.

There will be no visitation or mass. A burial will be held in St. Anthony’s Cemetery at a later date.
