Obituary of John Cooke

John Cooke Dominion/ Glace Bay John Cooke, age 69 of Glace Bay and a former resident of Dominion, passed away on Friday, September 2, 2016 at the Glace Bay Hospital. Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Patrick and Nina (Lynch) Cooke. John was employed in the coal mines for a short time before moving to Ontario where he worked at several odd jobs. He was always known for his keen sense of humour. John came from a large family and at the time of his passing he was residing with his brother, Bill in Glace Bay. Cremation has taken place. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 7 in the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay with Fr. Leo Boone officiating. Interment in St. Anne’s Cemetery. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the lovely nurses at the Glace Bay Hospital for their compassion and care.
