Obituary of Shirley Traboulsee, Glace Bay

Glace Bay

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shirley Traboulsee, age 81, of Glace Bay  on Monday, May 6, 2019 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.

Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Ferris and Helen (Lappin) Trabousee.

In her earlier years she worked as an accountant for the Community Hospital. She was a member of St. Anne’s Church and was a long time member of St. Anne’s Choir. Shirley was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Society. She enjoyed skating, skiing and loved to travel. She also loved going to concerts at the Savoy, her card club and trips to her bungalow with her friends. She loved children and was called ‘Nana Shirley’ by her best friend’s grandchildren. Shirley was also a season ticket holder for the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles. She was a very kind and caring person and was a person who would do anything possible for family and friends.

Shirley leaves to mourn many cousins and a special thank you to her cousin, Wayne MacNeil.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff at the ER department and palliative care for their care and kindness.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Fabian.

There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel and Reception Centre, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay.
