Elinor Grace Bryden
Glace Bay / Sydney
Elinor Bryden, age 87 formerly of Grand Lake Road, Sydney and recently of Victoria Haven Nursing Home, Glace Bay passed away on Monday, September 5, 2016 at the Glace Bay Hospital.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Wallace and Florence (Bramwell) Peters.
Elinor was a member of St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Glace Bay. She had a great sense of humour and enjoyed playing darts; she was also a member of the Reserve Mines Seniors Club. Elinor loved animals, especially her Yorkie, "Taffy".
She is survived by her daughter, Judy (Doug) Wilson, Reserve Mines, two sons, Jody (Barbara), Calgary, Todd (Melissa), Moose Jaw, one sister, Betty (Bill) Lawrence, Glace Bay, one brother, Ralph Peters (Ruth –Deceased), Glace Bay, three grandchildren, Bethany, Twins, R.J., Olivia and several nieces and nephews.
Elinor was predeceased by her husband, Thomas James "Jim" Bryden, daughter, Wendy Joanne and a sister, Jennette Rutt.
Visitation is Wednesday from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay. The funeral service officiated by Rev. Vernon Reid is Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Glace Bay followed by a reception. Cremation to follow with interment in the parish cemetery at a later date.
