I was genuinely saddened to learn of Marie’s death. She was a wonderful neighbour, always a smile and I was glad to have visited and had a cup of tea, and a great chat and to meet Zelda last summer. The “Hill” will never be the same without Marie. My deepest condolences.

I am sorry for your loss. I remember seeing Marie many times years ago at the hospital and the many times she visited at our house. Marie and my mother were the best of friends. This Candle is lite for the best person that I've ever known. (She would tell me go'way right about now)
She was my nurse when I burnt my hand, she was the voice of the crow on the line saying hello when my sister and I were out playing. She was the driver that made me sick in the back of the car and the one person that was the rock of our family. She had one flaw that all the MacKinnon's have including myself, Jays fans till the end.
What I remember most and cherish is that she helped my Papa when my grandma got sick, she was there for my papa when he fell ill. She was everyone's best friend especially my mother's.
She was a lover of dogs and really anything as loyal as her.
I thought I would be seeing you again this summer but God called your name in the only way you deserved to go, at peace in a dream.
I love you always, I will miss you often and I pray you look down on my two little boys and help guide them on their way. Say hi to MA, Jess, Heckie and Charmaine for me... ok even Rose.
We will see you in our dreams.

I grew up knowing Marie, thru family, neighbours and friends. I just had a talk with her about a month ago, outside a Sydney store. It was a long time previous, so it was nice to see her and say hello. She sure will be missed especially by her Up-The-Hill family and friends. Rest in peace Marie. I cannot tell you all how sorry I am to hear of Marie's passing. She was a beautiful soul with a heart full of kindness...she was a person who always stopped and took the time to say hello....not ever walking past. The neighborhood of New Victoria is getting smaller but is forever grateful for the love that she extended and the time she spent there.
