Obituary of James 'Jim' Pearson, New Waterford
James 'Jim' Pearson, 86, of Celtic Court, Sydney formally of New Waterford died on Father’s Day, June 16, 2019. Born in New Waterford, he was the youngest son of the late Thomas Edgar and Sarah Elizabeth (Band) Pearson.
Jim was a member of All Saints Anglican Church, New Waterford. He worked as a coal miner in 12, 16 and Lingan for forty years. He also worked at the Miner’s Museum and at delivering coal and groceries in New Waterford. Jim loved to work with wood and created many pieces his family will treasure for years to come and was a huge Toronto Maple Leafs fan.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Eulodie 'Odile' (Dupret); his children, Keith, Toronto, Kenneth (Jeannette), New Waterford, Susan, Windsor, NS, and Brian, New Waterford; his grandchildren, Katelyn, Kyle, Jason (Alison), Andrew (Kirstie), Jordan, Lauren, Mark, Adam, Matthew, Keigan, Brandon, Briann, and Ryder and five great-grandchildren.
Jim was predeceased by an infant child, Bryan; brothers, Charles, Sidney, Thomas, Richard, and Robert in infancy, and sisters, Ethel, Marion and Betty.
There will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford.
