It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Howard Lawrence, age 53 of the Hub on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at his home.
Born in Burnt Island, N.L. he was the son of Margaret (Hatcher) Lawrence and the late George Lawrence.
Howard was a fisherman by trade since he was 16 years old. He loved playing darts and was also an avid Montreal Canadiens fan. Howard was a jokester and had a great sense of humour. He could always bring a smile to those he encountered.
Howard is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann (Campbell) Lawrence, one daughter, Natasha Kinslow, Sydney, three sons, Evan Lawrence (Alyssa), Glace Bay, Jamie Patey (Brittany), Glace Bay, Troy Campbell (Janet), Petawawa, three sisters, Alice Jane, Roxanne, Janette (Lee), seven brothers, Terry Hatcher, Tim Lawrence, Ivan Lawrence, John Lawrence, Harry Jason Lawrence, Roy Lawrence (Sharon) and Joey Lawrence.
Howard will be sadly missed by the joy of his life, his precious grandchildren, Bryson, Marshall, Jaxcen, Tarynn Lee, Elena Marie, numerous nieces and nephews and his father in law, "Da" Wayne Campbell. Special thanks to Howard’s sister in law, June and Russell Hannan.
Besides his father, Howard was predeceased by his mother in law, Aggie Campbell and sister in law, Theresa Russell.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 12 from 12 (Noon) until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m., all in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay. Rev.Vernon Reid will officiate the funeral service.
