Obituary of Neila MacKinnon, Glace Bay

It is with profound sadness that we the family of Neila MacKinnon, age 80 announce her unexpected passing on June 27, 2019 at her residence in Glace Bay. Neila was a much loved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. 

Neila was born November 9, 1938 to the late Wilfrid and Neila (Morrison) MacKinnon of Glace Bay. 

She was a long time employee with the Maritime Telegraph and Telephone Company. During her retirement she enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, and pursuing her hobbies. She was a faithful parishioner of Saint Anne’s Parish. Neila will be remembered as a caring aunt and for having a kind and generous heart. 

Surviving Neila is her dear sister, Lavina (Doug) Musgrave, North Sydney and a number of cherished nieces and nephews. 

She was predeceased by her brothers, Wilfrid (Yvonne), Jim (Connie), Rick (Janet) MacKinnon; and sister, Zita (Gordon) Graham.

Donations can be made to a charity of your choice. 

Cremation has taken place.The funeral service is Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at 11 a.m. followed by a reception, all in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay. Interment in St. Anne's Cemetery. Deacon Lorne MacNeil presiding.
