Obituary of Neil 'Sonny' Boudreau
We the family of Neil 'Sonny' Boudreau announce his unexpected passing at home on September 6th, 2016.
Born in New Waterford 65 years ago he was the son of the late Tina and Mickey Boudreau.
Prior to his retirement, Sonny was employed as a Survey Draftsman with the Cape Breton Development Corporation. Involved at an early age, Sonny participated in numerous sports including track, hockey, baseball, and soccer. Later he developed a true love of golf and curling. He excelled in each and every one of these. Just this summer Sonny was inducted into the New Waterford Sports Hall of Fame.
Sonny loved to travel. Both he and Marie Janice had wonderful adventures on their extensive trips to warm destinations. They also enjoyed their numerous jaunts to Las Vegas. He also had a special love and bond for his four legged companion 'Brandy'.
Sonny is survived by his wife Marie Janice (Kiss); brothers Kenny (Linda), Hughie (Lisa), Raymond, Donnie, and Michael; sister-in-law Judith (Angus) Gillis; brother-in-law Gerard (Donna) Kiss and Aunt Annabelle (Annie) MacKinnon and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Sonny was predeceased by his sister Florine, sister-in-law Linda and in-laws Laddie and Antoinette Kiss. In keeping with his kind and gentle manner, Sonny was a Legacy of Life donor.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2016 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. all in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford. Father Ray Huntley will be officiating. A luncheon will follow at St. Leonard's Parish Hall, Convent Street, New Waterford.
