Reginald Bernard LeRoux Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Reginald LeRoux, age 61. Reggie passed away very suddenly on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at his home.


Born in Glace Bay he was the son of the late Reginald and Cleophas ‘Cleo’ (Young) LeRoux.


In his earlier years Reggie was employed with both the Cadegan and Highland fish processing plants in Glace Bay; he later moved to Ontario where he worked as a painter for over 30 years. Reggie returned home in 2010 and worked with Ka’le Bay Seafoods Ltd., in Glace Bay. He enjoyed playing darts, fishing and hunting. He was a very outgoing person, and he had a heart of gold; always offering help to anyone in need. He enjoyed a good time, especially those times spent with his family and friends.


Reggie is survived by his loving wife, Florence (Bennett) LeRoux;, daughters, Cassandra, Lisa, Melinda, Melissa, Courtney , Josselyn; sister Cindy; brothers, Dwayne, Joseph, Aaron, Shane. Reggie will also be missed by his grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends; especially his two special friends, Billy Ford and John Adams.


In honoring Reggie’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service.


Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay.


Memorial donations in memory of Reggie may be made to our local SPCA.
