Obituary of Helen Jane LeBlanc, Reserve Mines

It is with heavy hearts we regret to announce the sudden passing of Helen LeBlanc, age 67 at her home on Saturday, September 28, 2019 in Reserve Mines.

Helen was born in Arichat, she was the daughter of Gustave and Mary LeBlanc, and the foster daughter of Victor and Janette Chaisson.

Helen leaves behind her partner, Vince Devison, only son, Shawn (Catherine) McKenzie, and grandchildren, Carson and Raina McKenzie.

She is survived by her brother, Richard (Geralda) LeBlanc, sisters, Joanne (Steve) Gribble, Dorothy (Baynes) Herod and her sister in-law, Ann LeBlanc. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends. 

Helen was predeceased by her parents, Gustave and Mary LeBlanc, her foster parents, Victor and Janette Chaisson as well as her brother, Francis LeBlanc.

Helen will be remembered as a loving Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and friend.  She was a beautiful, generous, caring soul with a huge heart, and a great sense of humour. Her infectious laugh will be remembered by all who knew her, as well as her wonderful home cooked meals.  Helen enjoyed her home with Vince and loved having her grandchildren visit. She always had a soft spot for animals and enjoyed feeding the ducks that visited often. Helen graduated from CBU with a Business Technology Degree.

Helen, you will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved you. 

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 19th, 2019 from 2 P.M. to 4 P.M. only in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay.
