Obituary of Alice Jean MacDonald, Glace Bay
It is with both profound sadness and solace we announce the passing of our angel Alice at the age of 75 years on Thursday, October 31st, 2019 at her residence. In true and typical fashion, Ma has penned her obit which is the following:
“Today I end my journey on earth. What a wonderful journey I have had. The good Lord blessed me with the greatest parents and seven wonderful siblings. We had a beautiful upbringing with lots of love and laughter in the house all the time. Mind you Ma had to pull the reins in on us at times. We added to the amount of grey hair she had, but no matter what they stood by us.”
“Then I met my future husband, Nelson, with whom together we had the joy of our lives Jeffrey. In our 44 years together we had our ups and downs but we stuck by each other and had a good life together."
“Jeffrey proved to be my saviour, staying beside me through the good, the bad and the ugly. I am so proud of our son and wish him all the best life has to offer. To my grandsons - I love you to the moon and back forever. Be good to each other, love each other and make time for each other."
To my siblings there is no end to the love I have for all of you. No matter the circumstance we always had each other.
To my friends and angels, Eva Cann and Emeline Strong - simply thank you. Without you I have no idea how I could have achieved all the things I did. To my sister, Linda and niece, Lorna thank you for putting your lives on hold to help me live out mine in peace and comfort.
I am survived by my son, Jeffrey and his darling wife Elizabeth, grandsons, Justin (Ericka) in Kingston and Devon, Ottawa, Callum (Carly) and Gregory, Ottawa, brother, Jackie, Glace Bay, sister, Linda (Myron), Miramichi, NB, brother, Robert (Florence), Stellarton, NS, brother in law, Jim Muck, Moncton, sisters-in-law, Heather (Brian), Fort St. John, BC, Kim (David), Halifax and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Predeceased by parents, Donnie and Lizzie (Turnbull) MacDonald, husband, Nelson, brothers, Donnie, Phillip, sisters, Lorraine and Betty, in laws, Russell and Tena (Gillis) MacDonald.
